COMEBACK, HELMUTS ART CLUB, 2020
COMEBACK by LENI MICHL
After a hiatus of 5 years Leni Michl is back. 5 years of building and dismantling dreams of family, love and friendships, short trips down memory lane, soul-searching, lost and future loves. This new body of work comprises objects and images revolving around love, candid and undisguised. Something steady after all, this eternal love affair with the art-world. Welcome back Leni!

DOROTHY AND HERB in collaboration with JOHANNA LAKNER
Installation view, IM ERSTEN, Vienna, 2013
Every year in March, when the full moon marks the change from winter to spring Holi is celebrated in Delhi and Northern India and demonstrates the triumph of good over evil.Whatever may be the story behind Holi, it conveys the message of a time to create new bonds, reach out to others and forget the past worries.
On this day all barriers like caste, creed, position, and language are forgotten and men and women join the fun by sprinkling each other with colored water and colored powder, the Gulal.
The festival begins with the flourishing of nature and this will be celebrated on the March 14 - the day of the opening of the exhibition.
DOROTHY AND HERB takes up this theme to visualize the plurality of related items:
the system of friendship printed in colorful awareness, the linkage and association of mankind, of good and evil and the victory of good over
evil – demonstrating also the victory of spring over winter.
Victory also plays an important role in sports, so this topic is included and integrated in the overall concept and expressed in the individual works.
